In fact, the past few years have flown by for us because, if you can believe it, "Tis the Podcast" is turning 5 years old!

Even by Rankin/Bass standards this one is...*trippy*. Listen in as they look at the true story behind the legend and discuss Francis B. Church's iconic letter in "The Sun", talk through the animation style, and ultimately disagree on how to rank this short. Who likes it and who doesn’t? Tune in to find out!

Journey back 30 years through time with the elves, all the way to the year of 1992, to discuss the Romeo Muller Christmas special, "Noël", which was marketed as "a Christmas story for all generations"! Does the little red Christmas ornament, who has a happiness, live up to the tagline that describes his short film? Can he spread holiday cheer and share his happiness with all of the elves, or is this special just too surreal? How does having a history and nostalgia with this cartoon affect Anthony's rankings, and how does it play for Thom and Julia who had no idea this cartoon existed and are seeing it for the first time? All of these questions, and more, will be answered in this fun filled, "Mystery Science Theater 3000"-esque episode that's sure to bring a smile to your face!

This week, the elves dive into the Underunderstood podcast, label May 6th as both "Revenge of the Sixth" and "Festivus in May", and the "Jaws" franchise as they dive into the fourth movie of the franchise, 1987's "Jaws: The Revenge - This Time it's Personal". Also, get ready for a hot take from one of the elves on Quentin Tarantino!

Happy Monday, Christmas fanatics! And Happy May! Can you believe we're in month five of the year already? We are officially over Halfway to Halloween, which means we're over Halfway to our beloved 'Ber Months! On top of which, we're just under two months from the Halfway point to Christmas - Leon Day! This year is flying, so make sure to enjoy every second of it because we'll be on that official downward slope before you know it! 

 

This week, the elves travel back to the land of Hallmark Christmas movies to cover the 2020 original, "One Royal Holiday" - one of many that feature a fictional European kingdom that, for some reason or another, features a royal family that sounds British! As longtime listeners of the show will know, Julia, Thom, and Anthony all have a love/hate relationship with Hallmark films. How does this one fare with our hosts? Is it a massive win or a swing and a miss? You'll just have to tune in to find out! Well, much has been said about our list and our rankings over the years - and how low or high some movies are rated, or how harsh or lenient we were with certain specials. Because to celebrate our 5 years, we will be hosting "The Oscars" of Christmas movies, dishing out awards such as "Best Movie", "Best Score", "Best Lead Actor", etc. And guess who wants to choose the winners?
