Christmas Movie Podcast — All Episodes

This week, the elves tackle one of Julia's favorite (holiday-)film tropes - the dysfunctional family - while tackling 2005's The Family Stone. Julia, Thom, and Anthony fall all over the spectrum with their opinions in this episode full of disagreements, but nevertheless, they find much to laugh about along the way and come to a consensus when deciding whether or not this movie is a Christmas movie, and whether or not it passes the Linus Test. Also announced this episode is the creation of our new "Tis the Podcast" Facebook Group (which you can find here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/tisthepodcastgroup/), which will allow listeners to post, discuss, debate, and interact with the hosts and one another about their favorite holiday movies, television specials, music, traditions, and other content. As a special Halloween treat for all of our listeners, join the elves as they light the black flame candle and discuss what is arguably the greatest Halloween movie of all time - the 1993 Disney film, Hocus Pocus. Not only is this a fun, in-depth conversation about the Sanderson sisters, but it's also a fun blast from the Tis the Podcast past as this is the first Patreon episode that Julia, Thom, and Anthony released back in October of 2017 when the show was still in its infancy! Spooky month continues as the elves take on the 1990, Tim Burton film, Edward Scissorhands. Fair warning though, this episode is fairly contentious - the elves definitely don't come to a consensus on this movie. And with Christmas getting closer, the elves also discuss what you can expect from them this upcoming holiday season, including an ominous warning that one elf has a few unpopular opinions regarding some beloved Christmas classics.

This week, Julia, Thom, and Anthony kick off Spooky Month with the 2017, zombie, musical, Christmas, comedy-horror film, Anna and the Apocalypse. For a movie that takes place during the onset of the collapse of civilization, there's a lot of cheer this episode as the hosts gush over this story that's both heartwarming and heartbreaking, in addition to its incredible musical numbers. Also discussed are this year's Halloween costumes, the cooler Fall evenings, our soon-to-be released Halloween Patreon episode, and the exciting few weeks Tis the Podcast has ahead amongst many other things. And how will it compare to the book upon which it's based in Julia's mind?

Happy Two Years, everybody! Can you believe Tis the Podcast is already two years old? Julia, Thom, and Anthony sure can’t! Once again, the elves take a break from talking one specific movie this week in order to reflect on the year gone by, discussing what movies and television specials they were too hard and easy on, revealing their own personal Top 10 lists, and debating some changes they're contemplating making to the list! On top of this, they share some wonderful comments and touching well-wishes they received on this very special occasion from the best fans on the planet! So settle in with a Venti Pumpkin Spice Latte, blast that air conditioning (and be grateful September is here and Fall is coming up quick so you won’t have to for much longer!), and allow this healthy dose of Tis the Podcast nostalgia to grow your hearts three sizes and fill you up with some Christmas cheer! To round out the month of August, the elves delve back into the realm of superheroes by covering 2019's Shazam! Does this lighthearted, DC Films, action-comedy constitute a Christmas movie? Due to a pesky thing called "life", the elves were unable to get together this past week and record their scheduled episode on Joyeux Noël. We didn't want to leave y'all without some kind of content showing up in your feed this Monday, however, so we've decided to release an up-to-now Patreon exclusive episode in which we cover the graphic novel, Batman Noël - DC's take on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol! Joyeux Noël and Shazam both will be recorded this week, however, and both will be released next week, so keep an eye out for those! In the meantime, enjoy this trip to Gotham City throughout the years with Catwoman, Superman, and the Joker! (And bear in mind, this was recorded almost a year ago! Before Robert Pattinson signing on to play Batman was even a thought in anybody's head!) 

The elves are journeying back to the Kingdom of Aldova to check up on Amber, Prince Richard, Princess Emily, and the whole Aldovian royal family in A Christmas Prince 2: The Royal Wedding. What has happened over the past year? Join the elves as we discuss the Aldovian royal couple, the beauty of a wedding, and witness Amber become a princess. Plus, we have a couple of winners from our new contest!

Julia, Thom, and Anthony take one last trip back into the episodes of yesteryear with the Ghost of Christmas Past to once again cover the Hap-Hap-Happiest Griswold Family Christmas there's ever been in 1989's National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! The hosts have got a lot of stuff to celebrate in this quote-filled episode, other than just discussing one of the greatest holiday movies of all time, of course, including the Ber Months being right around the corner, Christmas getting closer, Marvel's upcoming Phase 4 slate, and the show's 2-year anniversary fast approaching! This is one fun, hilarious episode you'll want to be sure not to miss! So blast that air-conditioning, settle in with a cup of hot chocolate, and enjoy! 

In this old school, radio show/variety hour inspired bonus episode, Julia, Thom, and Anthony are preparing for their annual Christmas in July party up at Tis the Podcast Headquarters when a massive snow storm hits. Determined to keep busy while waiting for their guests to show up, and doing their best not to worry about the fact that the snow may impede their arrival, the elves decide to pass the time by singing some of their favorite Christmas Carols in order to keep the holiday cheer alive.
